The conversion of 2D games in 3D comes to the LG 3D Optimus, but Gingerbread

Games programmed in 2D can now be converted into a 3D format on the LG Optimus 3D, thanks to the updated V10K (during deployment). The company announced that Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) should also be in the game, but it is not.The LG Optimus 3D is a smartphone announced in February, during MWC. It is only recently out because the company has made changes to its terminal. For example movies are in 1080p at 30 frames per second (as against 24 announced). It is still on Android 2.2 (FroYo), as the majority of devices from LG, although it is yet a premium.

Normally, an update to Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) is expected later this month. The Optimus 2X is in the same situation, waiting for this upgrade since May (the first official date). For the 3D Optimus, the arrival in this new version of Android should be accompanied by a tool to convert 2D to 3D OpenGL games.

An update is being deployed on bare European versions of the phone. V10K noted, it provides the tool 3D Game Converter, Gingerbread, but is not there … You can still rejoice, playing 3D games without having to wear glasses and paying the price of a game 2D (as seen in 3D face a price increase over the 2-D).

If you have this phone, check with the utility if the update is available.
